Youth Malaria Prevention Campaign

Me and My Net Competition
The RCS's newest project, Me and My Net, will get young people around the Commonwealth thinking about one of the most important global issues of our day... malaria.
There are around 500 million cases of malaria every year, resulting in up to one million deaths. Yet we have long known of simple ways of preventing the disease. For example, sleeping under a mosquito net every night protects people in malarial regions, provided that the net is used properly.
We believe that young people can and should have a say about this important issue... especially because it is often young people who suffer most from the disease. So here's your opportunity to make your voice heard... and in a fun and creative way!
Me and My Net includes writing, photography and film competitions, as well as an online discussion. We'd love you to get involved! Read on for more information...

other RCS Youth Competitions - closing soon!
The 2011 Young Commonwealth Competitions in film, photography and writing are still open to entries, but deadlines are fast approaching! Young people from around the Commonwealth are invited to make their voice heard. This year, entrants are encouraged to get creative with the 2011 theme - 'Women as Agents of Change'.
Would you like to win a trip to London, meet famous authors, film directors and photographers, and see your entries exhibited around the world? If so, join the thousands of young people that enter our competitions every year. Our winners are often those picking up a camera or putting pen to paper for the first time. There are no right answers! What we're looking for is a creative spark, a unique insight, a new idea...
To enter the world's oldest and largest schools writing competition, get your essays in by the 1st May. Photographers have until the 1st June and filmmakers should submit their entries by 1st July. See our website for more information and enter online now! Contact
